Help with resources for Medicare patient

Hello,

I am one of two caregivers for my grandmother and as of recently I’ve taken on the main role. This has caused my attendance at work to decline, which is also causing issues with paying bills. She was diagnosed with Charles Bonnet Syndrome earlier this year, so shes in need of 24 hour care. Does anyone know of any resources for people with Medicare that will allow me to be her paid care giver? She does not want an in home nurse, or to leave her home. Thank you in advance.

kb_ Usually, Medicare will not pay you to take care of your loved one if you are living in the same household. You may want to research your state programs. In Texas, I was able to get Community Attendant Services for my parents. This program provides unskilled at home help with basic housekeeping, bathing and food preparation. My sister lives with them and works full time remotely and it is very difficult for her to take time off. This program gives her the ability to have help during the day so that she can continue to stay employed and be at home with my parents. The home health attendant is also able to accompany our mom or dad to appointments via senior transportation. Every little bit helps.
