My Name Is Sandra Yawn Caregiver, Authorizer & POA For My Mother Dominga Villanueva.
Back In January of 2023. I Received A Horrible Picture Of My Mom’s Face Within The Nursing Home She Resided In For 7 Years. Of Course All Along I Had To Work To Support My Family. She Had A Huge Black Eye. I Than Became Upset & Emotional, And Quickly Decided I Had To Do Something. So With The Decision Along With My Husband David Yawn, We Both Decided It Was Time To Do Something. I No Longer Wanted Her To Stay There. So I Resigned From My Job of 8 Years With The School District, And Had Her Discharge To Finally Bring Her Home With Her Family.
She Has Been With Me Since. I Had Up & Downs With Her, Because Of Her Alzheimer’s/Dementia
It Hasn’t Been Easy. But I’m Willing To Take Over The Care With Her. There’s Been Many Experiences With Her Through Out The Year. Figuring Out What Was The Best Care For Her. Finding Out Her Needs With The Different Disabilities She Had. Everyday That Passes I’m Learning, But It’s Different Everyday. I Felt The Need To Talk To Other People Who Might Be Going Through The Same Challenges, Because It’s Not Easy. Alot Of Times I Found Myself Crying, Cause To Watch Her On A Daily With Alzheimer’s Is Saddening. I Felt I Needed To Talk About It, To Sort Of Ease The Difficult Emotions I’m Going Through.
But I Care For Her Well Being. None The Less As A Daughter I’m Working Through It, To Give Her The Best Life She Deserves!!
Thank You For Listening,
Sandra Yawn💜
