Hi, I care for my Mom, and am new, too. I often feel so overwhelmed, yet you and your Mom's situation is very difficult and highly complex. I can totally understand why you must be at your breaking point. And your poor Mom ... I am so sorry. I'm not sure this is helpful, but wanted somehow to respond. First of all, by your mere presence and care, you are making your mom's life so much better. My thought is, to first speak w either your primary care doctor, and/or your Mom's, explaining your situation as you have here. In my case, that was helpful, as they placed my mom on Hospice which helped enormously, and I linked w a social worker on my doctor's medical team, who advised on every aspect, including financial needs. Also, I wonder if your Mom now, would qualify for assisted living? In my case, my mom needs someone with her all the time, walking, eating, toileting. While I have family close by, I'm the executor and care giver ... It may be that your Mom, if you were comfortable, it might better for your mom to be in a skilled nursing home. I'm doing all I can to keep my mom home, when I realize we passed the stage where she'd qualify for assisted living as she requires so much care. So know that your mom is blessed to have you, and I hope you might get some assistance from your health care team. My best, Ann
