I know enough to be dangerous, but I would still say D. I'm particularly interested in how to initiate a Guardianship for a person that is living alone, either has no family or they are estranged because of mental health issues, and how to engage the right parties to determine if a guardian should be appointed.
In my county, it seems like we have medical staff point to Adult Protective Services and Adult Protective Services pointing to medical staff to help make a decision in the appropriateness of guardianship. Who engages who to determine IF a guardianship is warranted and who assigns a lawyer.
In the meant time, neighbors try to help IF they are lucky. The doctor's in this county only do a Mini-Mental exam, which doesn't show the FUNCTIONALITY of a person to be able to do all the things they need to do to keep their independence. So, we might have someone that can name the president, but doesn't know the steps to turn on the microwave, when/how to write bills, or intermittently starts to wander at night.
Also, is there a recommendation WHEN someone should consider having all of the above done?
