How to understand dementia as a caregiver
I couldn’t decide where to put the link below, but it triggered me to create a new topic. Much of what we observe as caregivers is really hard to understand and part of our struggle is to process what is happening with the person we love as we try to make them happy and comfortable.
Even though being a caregiver is usually a very lonely experience we are not alone. Many others are making the same journey. I hope that this can be a space where we can share the unusual, weird and sometimes just amazing things that occur in this connection with a person who is living in a very different world than the one we experience.
Out of that sharing we may be better able to enjoy the loving positive moments that occur in the process.
The link below is a connection with someone who is making that journey. Please feel free to help others look into the window of your experience. I thank each of you for the help you provided as I cared for my wife.
I came across this link in my inbox today and felt the need to share it with you.
