MoniqueFrahm For anyone that attended our Emotions Wheel webinar a few weeks back, I have a question for you! Have you practiced any of the emotional awareness strategies that we discussed in the webinar? How has this benefitted you? Let's discuss!
Evan-Mc I am feeling grateful for the little things. For example, Mom is very alert lately. This does make me happy. I am a believer in 'gratitude leads to happiness' and 'training my brain' in this direction.
TomMinn Between the Emotional Wheel and the insights I am gaining from the books “Travelers to Unimaginable Lands “ and “Loving someone who has Dementia” my role as a caregiver has changed dramatically. I’m much more patient, tolerant and understanding. Thanks to all who have helped me get to a better place
Colorado I could use a review! I did print out the big green wheel, as well as some of the slides, and I wrote some things down for a few days. Then I let it slip. I confess! I thought the information was good, but I felt unsure about what I was supposed to do with it. After a few days, I thought my emotions were repeating themselves.
MoniqueFrahm Colorado Here is a quick reminder of some strategies for emotional regulation! Managing triggers - when we can identify our triggers, we can work to reduce, prevent and cope with them. Respond, don't react - responding involves a more deliberate and thoughtful approach to a situation. Assess your narrative - address negative thinking traps (I recommend looking deeper into these!) Notice the positive - put more attention on positive emotions to help shift your mindset. Realign with your values - consciously align your actions, decisions, and responses with your core values. I hope this helps. And remember - all the webinar recordings and slides are on the Trualta website if you need a deeper refresher!
