Non-stop talking

The person I care for who has dementia can talk for hours at a time, not repeating the same story, but just talking about a project or activities and often with imaginary persons. It sometimes makes sense and other times does not, but he is actively engaged in the conversation. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this with the person for whom you are caring.

While I haven't experienced exactly that situation, my loved one can asks the same questions over and over again for as long as I will sit and answer him. After so long it really gets to me and I have to leave the room! Even though I answer him, he doesn't seem to understand and/or hear me and just keeps asking.

bjl Yes, my mother would repeat the same question many times and it is frustrating. My husband will ask the same question, but not immediately after I have answered it, but later or on another day. His non-stop talking is different, but it is frustrating after hours of loud talking!
